About Me

The Bridal Designer is a privately owned business run by Milliner & Jewellery Designer Shirley Sinclair. Professionally trained in Millinery, Jewellery Making & Hair & Make-Up artistry, Shirley is dedicated to creating a flawless, timeless look and style that photographs beautifully on your wedding day.

Allowing the bride to feel and look the most stunning, perfect version of herself, is, in Shirley's experience, one of the most important requisites for a bride to be.

As a Hair and Make-Up Artist, coupled with a designing talent, Shirley provides invaluable help and advice to every bride she works with. Having over 20 years of experience, she instinctively knows what works with your hair style, face shape & colouring, taking your wedding dress, colour theme and personality into account.

Shirley believes that a tiara, headpiece or even a veil should not be chosen, until you have decided on your hairstyle. Your face shape, height, neckline and style of the dress, will all play a part choosing how you are going to wear your hair. Brides today want individuality, that reflects their own personal style and taste.

Shirley says, "One of the most common problems for a bride 'to be', is when a veil or tiara they chose with their dress, will not fit in with the hairstyle that they have visualized for their wedding day. Many brides still choose accessories and veils without knowing what suits them best. I would always recommend having a trial before deciding on accessories."

Your Headpiece/Tiara and veil should ideally tie your whole look together, seamlessly. Then, taking inspiration from your dress, headpiece and hairstyle, your jewellery should ideally be designed to compliment your desired, finished look.

The objective should be to enhance your look and style with accessories and not let your accessories determine your style and how you should wear your hair.
